These are the questions plant integrity, reliability, and procurement teams ask most often when scoping an inspection program. If you don't see yours here, contact our team and we will answer it directly.
What is the difference between NDT and NDE?
NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) and NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) are used interchangeably. Both refer to techniques that evaluate material and component integrity without damaging the asset. TechCorr provides the full Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Solutions portfolio, from conventional methods to advanced and autonomous inspection.
What inspection intervals are required for storage tanks?
API 653 requires external inspection every 5 years and internal inspection every 10 years for above-ground storage tanks, though intervals may be extended or shortened based on service conditions and risk assessment. Online inspection methods like MFL and submersible robotics can support risk-based interval extensions. See our Asset Integrity Management and Compliance Inspection services.
What inspection intervals apply to pressure vessels and piping?
API 510 governs pressure vessel inspection and API 570 governs piping. Both require periodic external, internal, and thickness inspections, with intervals set by service class and risk-based inspection. Our Asset Integrity Management program builds the inspection plan and tracks remaining life.
What certifications do TechCorr's inspectors hold?
Our inspectors hold API 510, API 570, and API 653 certifications, ASNT Level II/III certifications across UT, MT, PT, RT, PAUT, and TOFD, and NACE coatings and corrosion certifications. Rope access crews are IRATA and SPRAT certified. Every report is reviewed and signed by the API-certified inspector of record.
How quickly can TechCorr mobilize?
With offices across North America, TechCorr mobilizes crews to most regions within 24-48 hours for turnaround and emergency work. Find the nearest office on our Locations page.
Does TechCorr work during turnarounds?
Yes. Turnaround inspection is a core service — we staff surge crews for shutdown windows and deliver results fast enough to keep the critical path moving. Pair us with Rope Access to eliminate scaffolding from the turnaround scope.
Can TechCorr inspect assets that cannot be taken offline?
Yes. Our Online Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance & Autonomous Inspection programs use EMAT, PEC, MFL, robotics, and acoustic emission to inspect operating assets without isolation.
What industries does TechCorr serve?
We serve oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, power generation, marine, aerospace, and infrastructure. Explore the full list on our Industries page.
