AWS Certified Welding Inspection (CWI)

AWS certified welding inspectors (CWI) verify that welds, procedures, and welders meet the code before a fabrication or repair is closed out. TechCorr's CWI team reviews weld procedures and qualifications, witnesses production welding, and performs the visual, dimensional, and non-destructive examination that AWS D1.1, ASME, and API 1104 require, so the documentation stands up to client and third-party review.

What our certified welding inspectors do

• Weld procedure specifications (WPS) and PQR review - procedure qualification records checked against the code and the base metals you actually weld.
• Welder and operator qualification - performance qualification testing, continuity records, and certification tracking.
• Visual inspection of welds - bead profile, undercut, overlap, porosity, and dimensional fit-up against drawing and code requirements.
• NDT coordination - magnetic particle, penetrant, ultrasonic, or radiographic examination sequenced with production instead of after the fact.
